One hundred ninety-nine Fort Lupton High School students graduated, and they are going to start the next chapter of their lives, whether through adventures, new jobs, or continuing education and some may want to travel a little bit, the world awaits them.

👩🎓 Fort Lupton graduates urged to ‘accept the plot twist’
Fort Lupton High School students are officially graduated, and a few threw up their hats.
One hundred forty-nine members of the Fort Lupton Blue Devils’ class of 2026 gathered on the Bob Phelps Field on a nice, warm day May 23 surrounded by family and friends to begin their rite of passage.
👨🚒 New fire chief grateful to lead Fort Lupton department

Chief Greg Ward was sworn in on Thursday, May 27, at Fort Lupton Fire Station 3, to serve the Fort Lupton Fire Protection District. Ward was selected from five candidates who applied for the job. Ward has more than 38 years of public safety experience, including 31 years with the Loveland Fire Rescue Authority.
🏡 Brighton breaks ground on 46-units of senior housing
Brighton’s Housing Authority was joined by city officials Wednesday to celebrate the groundbreaking for a senior devoted apartment complex on S. 27th Avenue.
Deb Bristol, City of Brighton Housing Authority Executive Director, said the city did a housing needs assessment back in 2023 that showed the city what it needed to do regarding housing.
🏫 State poll gives Aims top honors for its workplace
Aims Community College Fort Lupton Campus
Aims Community College not only offers great education but has also been named one of the Top Workplaces for 2026 by the Denver Post.
The honor places the Community College among the top places to work nationally in the education category.
County closes WCR 41 through October for work
A three-mile stretch of Weld County Road WCR 41 northwest of Hudson will be temporarily closed for reconstruction beginning June 1.

🎭 Ventriloquist Marc Rubben performing at Wholly Stromboli Speakeasy
Ventriloquist Marc Rubben will be performing at the Speakeasy on Saturday, May 30. Marc Rubben is a well-known comedian and corporate ventriloquist who performs a wide range of colorful characters in a Las Vegas-style show.
He has been seen on The HBO Aspen Comedy Festival show “Accidentally Famous” and on cruise ships and resorts all over the world.

🐍 Rattlesnake Kate Story Presentation
The South Platte Historical Society is hosting a presentation by Tannis Bator about the story of the famous Rattlesnake Kate, who defended herself and her son Ernie against 140 rattlesnakes in 1925.
Bring a dish to share on Monday, June 1, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Located in the Fort Rendezvous Room at 2001 Historic Pkwy, Fort Lupton, on Highway 85, the North side of Fort Lupton, turn West on 14 1/2. The parking will be on the right.
🚘 DMV2GO at Fort Lupton Library
DMV2GO will be at Fort Lupton Public Library Monday, June 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It’s a new program to help Coloradans who do not have easy access to in-office driver license services. This mobile service focuses on helping underserved Coloradans get the DMV services they need.
These services include: First Time: Colorado Drivers License or Identification Card; Out of State Transfers; Renew: Drivers license, Permit, or Identification Card;Issue New: Drivers license, Permit, or Identification Card; Motor Vehicle Records; Reinstatements and Colorado Roads and Community Safety Act Services.
