Welcome to the Fort Report

Good day, Fort Lupton!

Belen Ward here, and happy Friday!

I was going through my photos and came across this one I took while covering the National Western Stock Show last month in a parking lot, featuring these sculptures on the back of a truck bed.

It’s an amazing annual event that kicks off with a parade for families and children to see rodeos and performances, enjoy a variety of animal events, visit an array of vendors, and showcase art and crafts.

I had to take a photo because of my love for art. This sculpture was unique, with long-horned skeleton heads, and it stopped me in my tracks on the way to the stock show arena, making me want to photograph it.

Art is meaningful, with a story behind it, and it beautifies our homes and cities.

Anyway, let’s get into this week’s news and events!

🚑 Kristie Skala is Aims Instructor of the Year

Skala’s teaching style was called out as a real success, doing real-life scenarios guiding her students as they run calls, such as a patient collapsing during a Zumba class, or a rural farmhouse scene that forces students to assess not only a patient’s condition but their own safety before stepping further into the situation.
